Libertador Hotels, Peru’s most renowned chain, operating its properties under three different brands, Libertador Hotels, Westin and Starwood Luxury Collection.





The Challenge
  • Hoteles Libertador, Peru’s largest and most renowned hotel chain, owns hotels and resorts in the most important corporate cities and resorts, including the newly opened and luxurious Westin Lima, decided as a Corporate Strategy in 2010, to look at Incrementa for Revenue Enhancement programs that will bring them additional revenues, increase their ADR and RevPAR and improve their Market Share.
  • Some locations were very remote and an implementation of the Up Sell strategy and commission structure was new to the company.
  • Their Central Reservations office was also a key element, since it was generating important numbers for the corporation.

The Solution
  • In October of 2010, Incrementa implemented its Check In Up, Front Desk Up Sell Programs at the Libertador Lima, Libertador Cusco Palacio del Inka, Hotel Paracas and Hotel Tambo del Inka, last two operating under the Starwood Luxury Collection, as well as the Book In Up program for their Central Reservations Office in Lima.
  • Incrementa trained all Front Desk staff and helped the hotel to create a new Up Sell strategy and philosophy that allowed for immediate results.
  • Due to its success, once the company opened the new Westin Lima, which in months ranked as the best and most luxurious Westin in the region, Incrementa was contracted to implement its Up Sell training to the Front Desk Staff.

The Results
  • Results were shown immediately, and by the end of 2010, their Up Sell revenues had grown in more than 5000% impacting ADR and RevPAR.
  • Customer service was improved since it allowed the staff to better interact with the guest, acknowledging their need at the time of check in
  • The Central Reservations Office saw an increase in bookings of the higher end categories as well as Westin Lima Club Floor Rooms, generating astounding amounts in incremental Up Sell revenues for the company.
